This is an Islay single malt from Caol Ila, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2022 by Elixir Distillers for its Reserve Casks collection. It is a small-batch bottling in a 70cl bottle, vatted from five re-charred wine casks.
It is bottled at 48% without added colouring or chill filtration. Peat smoke and a maritime character run through it, alongside tropical fruit and oak spice.
The nose brings smoky barbecue sauce, savoury peat and seaweed with tropical fruit juice. On the palate it is rich and textured, with cured ham, honeydew melon and watermelon. The finish is long and smoky, with dark peat and a touch of linseed oil.
