Singleton 18 Year Old is a single malt from the Dufftown distillery, which was built in 1895 and began production a year later. It was matured mainly in American oak casks, with a smaller share of European oak added for balance.
The nose offers sweet stewed fruits, berries, dark toffee and honey. On the palate it is soft, dry and rounded, and a little water brings out a nutty spiciness that recalls the cigar-box note on the nose. The aftertaste is cooling.
