A 17 year old Highland single malt from Glen Ord, released as part of the Diageo Special Releases for 2025 under the name Into the Blue. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.5% ABV.
The whisky was matured in refill casks and then finished in both mezcal and sherry casks, which adds a light, smoky minerality to the fruit.
The nose offers ripe pear, peach and dried apricot, with sherry sweetness, vanilla and spiced oak. The palate is full and layered, with honey and dried fruit followed by pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long, with lingering fruit, spice and a mineral freshness.
