Smokehead Single Malt is a peated single malt from Ian Macleod Distillers, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines thick, heavy wood smoke with rich, earthy peat, set against sharp spice and sweetness: fresh lemon, hot ginger and rich plum jam. The palate opens with a fiery, peppery peat heat, eased by a treacly sweetness before the smoke returns.
The finish brings exotic spices and an unusual tangerine note, before the peat comes back once more.
