Smokehead Tequila Cask Terminado is a peated single malt Scotch whisky from Ian Macleod Distillers, finished in tequila casks. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Peat smoke leads the nose, alongside vanilla and buttery biscuits, almonds with chewy meringue, blood orange with burnt sugar, and a surprise note of roasted pineapple.
On the palate, smoke and citrus come together, with peat and malt set against caramel and lime mixed with peach. Burnt corn on the cob keeps the citrus in balance. The finish is long and sweet, with gentle warmth, a touch of citrus and a little pepper.
