Smokeye Hill – Barrel Proof Blended Rye Whiskey (75cl, 66%)

Smokeye Hill Barrel Proof Blended Rye is a Colorado whiskey aged for five years or more and bottled unfiltered at barrel proof, 66% abv, in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill combines rye with heirloom blue corn, yellow corn and malted barley, and a touch of the distillery's barrel proof bourbon goes into the blend. It was aged in new American white oak barrels of 30 and 53 gallons, with No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 chars. The aroma is butterscotch, honey, warm spice and dried fig. The palate is full-bodied, with honey, caramel, cinnamon, dried apricot, vanilla, toasted oak and a touch of pepper. The finish is long and oily, with honeyed oak, warming spice and black tea.
