Smokin' Blended Scotch (70cl, 40%)

Smokin' is a blended Scotch whisky from Duncan Taylor, made in small batches from peated malt whiskies from several regions of Scotland combined with grain whisky. Bourbon casks add a soft toffee and vanilla side to the blend. It carries the name The Gentleman's Dram and is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. On the nose, peat smoke and wood smoke come with barbecue spice, caramelised sugar, citrus, mocha with vanilla cream and a hint of damp seaweed. The palate is creamy and sweet, with ashy smoke, milk caramel, chocolate and vanilla, then salted butter, salty lemon and black pepper. The long finish turns dry and spicy with clove and cinnamon, the smoke fading like embers.
