Sonoma Distilling Co. Sonoma Rye is a California rye whiskey, bottled at 46.5% ABV (93 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The mash is 80% California rye and 20% malted rye from the UK. Adam Spiegel founded Sonoma Distilling Company in 2010, one of the first 200 distilleries in the United States. It makes small-batch, grain-to-glass whiskey in direct-fired pot stills in Sonoma wine country. On the palate it offers vanilla, allspice, white pepper, dried apricot and walnut.
