Speyside Hero IV 13 Year Old The Whisky Chamber (50cl, 59.7%)

Speyside Hero IV is a 13 year old blended malt bottled by The Whisky Chamber at 59.7% in a 50cl bottle. It joins a Balvenie with a little Glenfiddich, and was distilled in 2007. The whisky matured in a single Oloroso sherry octave cask, a small 50 litre cask, which gave it a very dark colour and a sweet character of dark fruit. The outturn was 186 bottles. The nose is toasted bread and sour cherry. The palate shows candied sugar, sherry, mace and a little fruit. The finish is long and spicy.
