Springbank – 12 Years Cask Strength Batch 20 (70cl, 55.3%)

This is Batch 20 of the Springbank 12 Years Cask Strength, a Campbeltown single malt bottled on 8 January 2020 at 55.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a mix of 35% sherry casks and 65% bourbon casks. Springbank has never chill-filtered its whisky or used colouring. The nose brings fresh floral notes, white and green wine gums, wood shavings, candied ginger and black liquorice. The palate is rich and malty, with spiced biscuits and salted caramel cake, an oily, chewy texture, then salted pretzels, Iberico ham and Springbank smoke. The finish carries on with smoke, sea salt, dark chocolate, ground coffee and lemon sorbet.
