Springbank 15 Year Old is a sherry-matured Campbeltown single malt in a 70cl bottle. Springbank is the only distillery in Scotland to malt, distil, mature and bottle on the same site.
The Oloroso cask maturation shows on the nose, which is big and bold, with a maritime hint. The palate is viscous, with peaty character coming through as sooty kiln smoke and tobacco leaf.
Notes include cured meat, clove, mint and tinned prunes on the nose, then figs, walnuts, Demerara sugar and cocoa on the palate. The finish carries soot, leather and walnuts.
