This is a 21 year old Springbank, a Campbeltown single malt with a warm golden colour and a maritime influence. It is a limited edition in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is a vatting of port, bourbon, rum and sherry casks, in proportions of 65%, 25%, 5% and 5%.
The nose opens with Medjool dates, sticky toffee pudding, treacle, stewed plums and blood orange zest, with delicate peat smoke behind. On the palate the smoke continues alongside smoked figs, caramelised brown sugar, cigar box, blackberries and Iberico ham. The finish brings banana bread, cinnamon and a savoury, earthy note.
