Springbank – 21 Years 2023 (70cl, 46%)

Springbank 21 Years is a single malt from Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle in a gold-lacquered box. It matured in a mix of casks: 45% bourbon, 20% rum, 20% sherry and 15% port. Springbank states that it has never chill-filtered its whiskies or used colouring. The nose has citrus, pineapple, icing sugar and caramel, with baked ham, tomato leaf and a hint of peat smoke. On the palate come ripe mango, dried coconut and papaya, alongside liquorice, cola syrup, honey and a slightly earthy touch. The finish is long, with orange zest, smoke and caramel.
