Springbank 25 Years Old is a 2019 release from the Campbeltown distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured for 25 years in sherry and rum casks, in a split of 60% sherry and 40% rum, and was married in port pipes for further maturation. Only 1,200 bottles were released worldwide. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is violets and rhubarb, followed by barbecued meat, sugar syrup, tropical fruit and oloroso sherry. The palate is balanced, with barbecued meat, tropical fruit and muscatel wine. The finish is maritime and earthy, with syrupy notes.
