This is a 28-year-old single malt from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, a Springbank Society exclusive bottling. It was distilled in July 1997 and bottled in May 2026 at 51.1% ABV, in 350ml bottles, with 1,452 bottles in total.
For its first 25 years it matured in fresh Port hogsheads. In 2023 it was moved into refill bourbon hogsheads for three more years.
The nose brings red velvet cake, thick jam, old library, rhubarb stalk, plums, dark cherries and Ibérico ham. On the palate come oyster shell, pepper, caramel, chocolate and fudge. The finish has pumpernickel, ash, a maritime note and milk chocolate.
