This is a 5 year old Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled at 100 Proof, or 50%. It marks the return of a 100 Proof Springbank, which had not been seen since the mid 2000s. The whisky was matured entirely in bourbon casks.
The nose is bright, with green apples, gorse, wine gums and a mineral note. On the palate, a touch of peat smoke sits with icing sugar and white chocolate, and tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil develop. The finish brings honey and gooseberries.
