SRV5 Thompson Bros. 8 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (48.5%)

SRV5 is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Thompson Bros., the independent bottler and Dornoch Distillery team working from Dornoch Castle. It is bottled at 48.5% ABV. The name comes from the vatting cask, a 1,200 litre European oak cask in which single malts of at least 8 years old from the northern Highlands, Islay and Speyside are married. After each bottling, around 400 litres stay in the cask as a starter for the next batch. It is described as bright and fresh, with a slightly waxy mouthfeel and a gentle, smoky balance.
