Refill American oak hogshead
This is a 40 year old single malt from St Magdalene, the lost Lowland distillery also known as Linlithgow. It was distilled in 1982 and bottled at 54.5% in a 70cl bottle, as part of Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection. It is one of 150 bottles from a single refill American oak hogshead. Private Collection whiskies are personally selected by members of the Urquhart family, who own Gordon & MacPhail. The nose is clove-studded orange with sweet red apple, grapefruit, butterscotch, cocoa powder and mature oak. The palate is sweet citrus balanced by black pepper, then poached pear, walnut and marzipan. The finish is full and spicy, with lingering aniseed.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
