A 16 year old Lowland single malt from St Magdalene, distilled in 1981 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseur's Choice range at 40% ABV. The distillery has since been demolished. St Magdalene was also known as Linlithgow. It was an eighteenth-century distillery sited between the Union Canal and the railway line, with the canal supplying its cooling water. Most of its whisky went into blends, though independent bottlers released it under both the St Magdalene and Linlithgow names.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
