Standard Proof Cinnamon Spiced Rye (40%)

This is a cinnamon-flavoured whiskey from Standard Proof Whiskey Co., bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Rather than a neutral spirit, it starts from a straight rye whiskey base, which is infused with real cinnamon sticks. The peppery character of the rye is meant to sit alongside the cinnamon heat, without heavy sweetness covering the spirit. The nose is cracked cinnamon stick, baking spices and a hint of earthy rye grain. On the palate, warm cinnamon is balanced by vanilla, toasted oak and peppery rye. The finish is smooth and warming, with lingering sweet cinnamon spice.
