Stauning – Malted Rye Virgin Oak Single Cask

Stauning Malted Rye Virgin Oak is a single cask rye whisky from Stauning, a distillery on the West Coast of Denmark, matured in virgin oak. The distillery began in 2005, when nine friends set up two small pot stills in an old butchery. It uses 100% local barley and rye, all floor malted in-house, and still fires its pot stills directly, which is uncommon today. The distillery now runs 24 stills. Its peated expressions use local Danish peat and heather in the kilns to dry the barley.
