Stauning – Smoke Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 47%)

Stauning Smoke is a mildly smoked Danish single malt, bottled at 47% in a 75cl bottle. The barley is harvested in Stauning, floor-malted at the distillery and smoked over local peat and heather. It is double-distilled in small, open-fired pot stills, left unfiltered and not chill-filtered, then matured in first-fill bourbon, Madeira and Jamaica rum casks and virgin American oak. The nose combines hay and woody smoke with a touch of bright lemon. The palate is light in texture, with sharp wood smoke and leather, a hint of cocoa, and a soft, sweetened white bread note in later sips.
