Stauning – R.Y.E. PX Sherry Oak Whisky of Denmark (70cl, 46%)

This is a 2026 release from the Danish distillery Stauning, built on its signature whisky of locally grown Danish rye and barley. The grains are 100% floor-malted at the distillery, double distilled in small copper pot stills heated by direct fire, and matured in virgin oak. A long finish in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks follows, bringing darker fruit, warm sweetness and added depth without covering the rye. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The nose has warm baking spices and dark dried fruit. The palate shows caramelised fig, ripe plum and toasted oak, and the finish is long and fruity.
