Stauning – Røg Smoked Double Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Stauning Røg is a lightly smoked Danish whisky made from both malted barley and malted rye, grown in local fields. The grains are floor-malted at the distillery, then kiln-dried and smoked with heather and peat. It is double distilled in the distillery's 24 small copper pot stills. Maturation starts in American oak and finishes in Madeira casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour and no chill-filtration. The nose is soft campfire smoke and toasted grain. On the palate come stone fruit, caramel, fine spices and a little smoke.
