Stranahan's 11 Year Bottled-in-Bond is an American single malt made from 100% malted barley in Denver, Colorado. It is the distillery's first Bottled-in-Bond release, and it marks the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado.
It was distilled between January and June 2015, then matured for 11 years in new American white oak barrels with a level 3 char, in a federally bonded warehouse. It was cut to 100 proof, or 50% ABV, with water from Eldorado Springs.
The nose has candied apples, baked orchard fruit, pipe tobacco, oiled leather and clove. The palate brings velvety caramel, cracked pepper, dark chocolate and molasses, and the finish is long and silky, with oak, cocoa nib and spearmint.
