Strathearn Small Batch 001 is the first release of Strathearn Highland Single Malt, from a small distillery in Highland Perthshire. It is a three-year-old malt in a 70cl bottle at 46.6% ABV.
It was matured in European oak and ex-sherry casks and bottled in 2019, without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose offers bright sultanas and sherried raisins with milk chocolate and toffee apple. On the palate come cherry, a little peppery spice, and oaky, nutty notes. The finish has slight floral touches of pine needles, alongside pepper, cinnamon and citrus.
