A 15 year old single malt from Strathmill, bottled by North Star Spirits at 55.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single oloroso hogshead and was drawn from 245 bottles.
The spirit was distilled in 2006 and spent 15 years in the cask before North Star opened it in 2022. It is bottled without chill filtration, as North Star does with its small batch releases.
The nose offers soft stone fruits and floral honey, then dried prunes, sultanas and a little tobacco. On the palate come chocolatey malt, caramel, apricots and dates, with creamy barley and vanilla pastries. The finish brings chocolate hazelnuts, milky coffee, a hint of chai and cracked pepper.
