This is a decanter-style blended whisky released by Suntory for the 20th anniversary of the Suntory Open, a Japan Golf Tour event that ran from 1973 to 2007. The base of the decanter is shaped like a golf ball, and the bottling was branded specially for the tournament.
The nose offers ripe apples and pears, soft vanilla, gentle oak spice and a hint of smoke. The palate is smooth and creamy, with malt, stewed fruit, cinnamon, honeyed nuts and light roasted coffee. The finish is long and gently bitter, with dried fruit, spice and toasted oak.
