Suntory The Chita Single Grain Japanese Whisky (43%)

The Chita is a Japanese single grain whisky, the first single grain from the House of Suntory, bottled at 43% ABV. It draws on 40 years of grain distilling at the Chita distillery, whose grain whisky is traditionally used to bring harmony to Suntory blends. Blender Shinji Fukuyo matured it in wine casks and Spanish oak casks as well as American white oak, aiming for greater depth and complexity. The nose brings crème brûlée, cardamom, acacia honey and blooming rose. The palate is mild and smooth, with a touch of mint, deep honey and cardamom seeds. The finish is clean and clear, with spiced oak and subtle bittersweet notes.
