This is a 4 year old single grain whisky from the Chita distillery in Japan, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2014 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It was matured in a virgin oak puncheon, cask G13.1, and bottled at a cask strength of 58.3% in a 70cl bottle. 622 bottles were filled.
The nose is pungent and intense, with vanilla, lychee and oak alongside white peach, citrus, ginger, marshmallow, red berries and toffee. On the palate it is smooth, with popcorn syrup, sweet oak, ginger, vanilla, lychee and citrus. The finish brings popcorn and honeyed citrus, with mild oak and a little dryness.
