Super Nikka Blended Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Super Nikka is a Japanese blended whisky first made in 1962, in a 70cl bottle at 43%. Nikka describes it as a classic, easy-drinking blend with only slight touches of peat and sherry, and says it contains a high proportion of malt from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. The nose is honey and caramel, with over-ripe banana, stewed apple, a touch of nuts and a mildly earthy, herbaceous edge. On the palate, light honey and caramel come with a hint of chocolate, apple, pear and tropical fruit. The finish is medium to short, with oak and peat.
