Super Nikka Blended Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Super Nikka is a Japanese blended whisky first made in 1962, here at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is one of the early Japanese whiskies and is well known in Japan. Nikka describes it as an easy-drinking blend in a classic style, with only slight touches of peat and sherry and a high proportion of malt from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. The nose is honey and caramel with over-ripe banana, stewed apple, a little nut and dry earth. On the palate, light honey and caramel meet apple, pear and tropical fruit. The finish is medium-short, with oak and peat.
