Taketsuru 12 Years Old is a Japanese blended malt whisky, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. This is an older bottling of the expression.
The nose is a full fruit basket of ripe peach, lychee and mango, with apple tart, vanilla cream, light café au lait and a touch of soft smoke. The palate is soft and sweet, with vanilla, apple, pear, salted butter caramel, banana and a hint of dark chocolate, finishing on honey, nutmeg, almond and gentle peat. The finish is medium in length, with vanilla cake, apple tart, light smoke and a hint of brine.
