Talisker 10 Year Old is an Island single malt from the Isle of Skye, shown here in its Old Label design, in a 70cl bottle at 45.8% ABV. It belongs to Diageo's Classic Malts series and has matured for a minimum of 10 years in American oak casks.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, with pungent smoke, sweet pear and apple peel, and a little maritime salt from kippers and seaweed. On the palate, peat crackles with black pepper alongside a touch of brine and dry barley, balanced by orchard fruit. The finish is long, with toasted malt and a sugary base.
