A 1957 vintage Isle of Skye single malt from Talisker, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the early 1980s in a 75cl bottle at 51.1% ABV. The whisky is heavily sherried. The cask is one that survived the fire at the distillery on 22 November 1960, which caused significant damage. The nose is very meaty and smoky, with parsley, herb sauce and fried foie gras. The palate is big, medicinal, resinous and tarry, with liquorice and crystallised lemon, and the finish is notably salty.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
