Talisker 8 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Skye, in a 70cl bottle. It is part of Diageo's 2021 Special Releases, themed Legends Untold, and its label carries a sea monster. It was matured in heavily peated refill casks, giving a bold, vibrant whisky with a peaty punch and plenty of fruit.
The nose is typically described as sweet vanilla and sponge cake, then beach bonfires and salty seaweed, with stone fruit. The palate brings black pepper, smoke, heather, honey and peaches, and the finish is long and fiery, with black pepper, chilli and a little caramel.
