This 8 year old Talisker single malt comes from the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye and was bottled for the 2024 Special Releases. It belongs to the Spirited Exchange Second Edition, released under the theme 'What If'.
The whisky was matured in refill American oak and ex-bourbon casks, then finished in American oak casks rotated with stones, a process inspired by the movement of the ocean. It was bottled at natural cask strength.
The nose is gentle and dry, with maritime notes, oyster shells and peat moss. The palate is creamy, sweet and salty, turning peppery with apples and pears. The finish is long, with a cooling Szechuan pepper note.
