Talisker – Bodega 40 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

This is a 40 year old Talisker from the Isle of Skye, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle as part of the Bodega Series. It was created as a homage to the distillery's long trade with Delgado Zuleta, a winery near Sanlucar de Barrameda in Spain's Sherry Triangle. Malt Master Dr Craig Wilson began with Talisker distilled in 1978, aged in refill casks. Five casks that had held the bodega's 40 year old Amontillado sherry were then chosen by its Sherry Masters for the finish. Rich raisin and peaty aromas lead, with a sweet, fruity smokiness on the palate and Talisker's peppery kick. The finish is long and soothing.
