Talisker Distillers Edition is a single malt from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, which has been making whisky there since 1830. It is given a second maturation in Amoroso sherry casks, a sweet, oxidatively aged sherry. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines sea air, bonfire smoke and black pepper with ripe figs, raisins and dark toffee. The palate is layered, with maritime spice, sweet dried fruit, dark chocolate and peppery warmth, and the smoke stays present. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with sherry sweetness and a trace of smoke.
