An 8 year old English whiskey from TALU, made from a rye, barley and maize spirit and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is matured in level-four charred American white oak, then finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, which give the deep colour and much of the flavour. It is non-chill filtered and its colour is natural.
The nose is rich and unctuous, with baking spices, dried fruits, sugared almonds and jammy fruit. On the palate come candied dates, cherry jam, dark chocolate, cinnamon sugar and glazed walnuts. The finish is long, with spiced fruitcake over rich oak and a dark cocoa tang.
