Tamdhu 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured entirely in first-fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. It is bottled at 43%, non-chill filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery was founded in 1897 by a group of blenders and matures all of its whisky in Oloroso casks.
The nose is warm vanilla and cinnamon with stewed orchard fruit, raisin and toffee. The palate is rich and rounded, with sherried dried fruit, milk chocolate and gentle oak spice. The finish is long and sweet, with fruitcake and soft spice.
