This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Tamdhu, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks rather than being finished in them. The distillery makes its own malted barley on site, in a Saladin box maltings.
The nose offers blackberry, pear and red currant over fig, dark raisin, pound cake and butterscotch. Caramel and milk coffee lead the palate, followed by malted biscuit, sherried almonds, dried fruit and gentle ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is medium in length and drying, with oak tannins, a touch of charcoal and a faint menthol note.
