This is an 8 year old single cask Tamdhu from Speyside, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2022 from a sherry hogshead, at a natural cask strength of 61.3% ABV. The outturn was 294 bottles, each in a tube, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is full of spices that develop into orange peel, red apples and buttered toffee. On the palate there are oranges studded with cinnamon and cloves, with honeyed barley and fruit cake. The finish is long, with mocha and ripe red fruits beside a warming depth of allspice.
