This is a 40 year old Tamdhu from Speyside, distilled in 1971 and bottled in 2011 by Gordon & MacPhail at 43% ABV for its MacPhail's Collection. The distillery had only two stills when it was made. Gold in colour, the nose opens fresh and floral with dandelions, yellow plums and apricots, then turns slightly resinous with pine needles and vanilla custard, with plain oak in the background. The palate has a faint fruitiness of peaches, with ice tea, tapioca or flour and hints of marshmallow.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
