This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Tamdhu, matured entirely in sherry oak, predominantly Oloroso. It has a deep gold colour with amber flashes.
The character is honeyed and fruity, with a gentle resinous note and a clean sherry profile. It is best taken neat, as water softens some of its richness.
On the nose there is heather honey, golden syrup, fresh apple and pear skin, with resinous oak, warm leather and a little baking spice. The palate brings honeyed malt, apple compote, raisin, toffee and almond cream, and the finish is medium in length, warm and gently drying.
