Tap Rye is a Canadian rye whisky finished in port casks, bottled at 42% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is matured for up to eight years in a combination of traditional North American oak casks and casks that previously held port.
In the glass it is a light honey gold. The nose begins dusty, with cough syrup, nail polish remover and dark cherry, then turns to cinnamon sugar and a grilled cheese note. The palate is light-bodied and juicy, with red grape and dark fruit, then a sweet wine character. It finishes on grape candy and chocolate.
