Teeling – Blackpitts Peated Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Blackpitts is a peated Irish whiskey in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% vol. It takes its name from the Dublin district beside the Teeling Distillery where the city's maltings once stood. The whiskey was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes casks, which bring out peat smoke on one side and fruitiness on the other. Irish triple distillation gives the smoke a soft, mild footing. The nose combines campfire smoke with maple syrup, fruit and orange zest. The palate is balanced, with honey, grilled pineapple, apple and pear, and a smoked caramel with sea salt. The finish is long, with peat smoke, sea salt and lavender.
