Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt is an Irish single malt from Teeling Distillery, made from peated barley. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, in a metal gift box. The name recalls Blackpitts, the historic industrial quarter of Dublin where distillers and maltsters once worked and smoky drying was part of daily life. The whiskey is matured in two types of cask, ex-bourbon and Sauternes wine. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is lightly smoky, with barbecue smoke, vanilla, tropical fruit and honey. On the palate come smoked pineapple, caramel, honeyed oats, roasted nuts and a little citrus, leading to a long, woody and smoky finish with sweet fruit.
