Templeton Rye Maple Cask Finish Series 1 is an Iowa rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV. It begins as Templeton's straight rye, made with a high rye mash bill and aged in charred American oak barrels, then moves into casks that previously held maple syrup.
It was the first release in Templeton's annual cask finish series.
The nose is maple syrup, rye spice and charred oak with dried fruit and vanilla bean. The palate is full bodied, with rye grain, toasted pecans, cinnamon bark, caramel and a hint of clove. The finish is long and softly spiced, with maple candy and rye.
