This is a 16 year old Laphroaig bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company at 45.8%, in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of Laphroaig refill hoggies, finished in an ex-Oloroso barrique.
The nose brings strawberry jam, cigars, walnuts, earth, teppanyaki sauce and creosote, with liquorice and a touch of ointment and cough syrup. The palate is rich and creamy, with chestnut purée, salted citrons and pink grapefruit, a hint of pepper and possibly a little jasmine tea.
